Online Systems Technical Authority
Adrian Hall is the Technical Authority for Online Condition Monitoring Systems at AVT Reliability. Due to his extensive industrial experience, he specialises in the design, installation, commissioning and the use of online vibration and performance monitoring systems. As well as being qualified in Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Acoustics etc. he brings with him almost 20 years’ experience in Predictive Maintenance deployment.
Head of Operations
Paul has over 25 years’ maintenance and reliability experience in both management and consulting positions in upstream/downstream oil and gas, food and the chemical industry. He has extensive experience gained in the implementation and management of process improvement, EAM systems, reliability, availability, predictive maintenance and team development, coupled with extensive project management and a track record of achieving strong results in any organisation. Paul leads our asset Management Operations team ensuring quality of delivery to our clients.
IS Development Manager
After completing an apprenticeship as a Mechanical Draughtsman Ian completed a degree in computer aided engineering and an Engineering Doctorate in Maintenance Work Control. During this period Ian worked for Wolfson Maintenance and wrote a large proportion of the MIMIC 2001 maintenance management system. Ian joined AVT in 2013 with a brief to improve all aspects of hardware and software for AVT Condition Based Maintenance system. Ian today leads our products and software development teams.
RDC Team Leader
Alan Hemphill is our client support centre team leader. Alan has 10 years CM experience in all CM techniques including advanced rotor dynamics and reciprocating experience with extensive years spent in multiple industry sectors. Alan today leads our Machine Sentry RDC support team operations on a daily basis ensuring our clients are supported by our RDC engineers and responsible for delivery of service to all of AVT global RDC clients.
External Training Manager
After completing a mechanical engineering apprenticeship with the MOD, Alec spent over 5 years working in South Africa on mining, construction and maintenance contracts. After returning to the UK, he went on to complete an MSc at Glasgow Caledonian University. Since 1998, Alec has been involved in condition monitoring training and consultancy services in a variety of industries including power generation, chemical and oil and gas. Alec leads our external training services and sits on the BINDT working groups for vibration analysis and lubrication management.
Head of Technical
Andy Fyfe has worked for AVT Reliability for more than 8 years. Prior to that he worked for a defence contractor where he carried out noise and vibration surveys on Royal Navy warships. He also headed-up trials on RN ships and submarines with the aim of reducing far-field radiated noise. Andy previously led the Central Scotland Operations Team and controlled several compressor overhauls for clients during their planned shutdowns. He is a VA 4 qualified engineer, specialising in rotor dynamics; completing Bently Nevada’s Advanced Machinery Diagnostics course. Andy heads up the AVT Technical Team covering all non-routine Vibration Monitoring, Reciprocating Analysis, Thermal Imaging and Rotor Dynamics work scopes.
Quality Delivery Manager
PJ’s early career years were spent within the mining sector and specifically with a major international mining organisation in South Africa, where he worked in both surface processing plants and underground areas. After five years at the forefront of operational roles, PJ was promoted to a corporate position as a senior machinery inspector. In this role he provided leading support of reliability focused services to gold, platinum, diamond, iron ore and zinc mines in Southern and Central Africa, leading machinery reliability program improvements. PJ is currently a Level 3 ITC Certified Thermographer and has been involved in industrial engineering since 1997 and specifically in condition monitoring and reliability specialist disciplines since 2003. PJ is certified in a number of condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging and airborne ultrasound. PJ is responsible for all AVT service contracts ensuring focused client delivery of our services.
Lubrication Technical Authority
As an experienced engineer, Mark has worked in a variety of industrial sectors at both technician and supervisory levels having specialized in lubrication, condition monitoring and reliability engineering for more than 16 years. Before joining AVT Reliability, Mark spent 13 years in the Royal Air Force as a propulsion engineer of which part of his role within the RAF was running the EFDC (early failure detection centre) looking at wear debris analysis for gas turbines, gearboxes, auxiliary power units etc. Mark is an ICML MLAIII level lubricant analysist with experience (one of only three qualified people in the UK) to provide support to all customers for lubricants and implement Lubrication & Condition Monitoring Programs.
Having completed his technical studies in both France and England, Frederic moved to the UK in 1998 where he held Maintenance Management and Plant Supervision roles for blue chip companies in the UK and mainland Europe before joining AVT Reliability in 2009. He has successfully implemented and developed maintenance strategies and condition monitoring programs in various industry sectors and for customers. Whilst AVT Reliability has continued to grow in the UK and globally, Frederic has progressed his career through the organization to his current position of Managing Director at AVT Reliability.
Technical Director – Asset Management
Lee has been involved in machinery condition monitoring and reliability engineering programs for over 15 years. He has held operational and management roles at various organizational levels in the service sector, at AVT Reliability and an E&P Oil Company. He is a passionate reliability and asset management leader dedicated to improving industry asset management practices and driving reliability changes for clients. He is responsible for the AVT Reliability Consultancy asset management team, AVT standards development, external training and internal competency, business growth/sales, marketing and business quality management systems.
Internal training manager – Asset Management
David has been involved in machinery condition monitoring and reliability engineering for more than 30 years. He has worked in most manufacturing sectors from North Sea Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverages, Mining, Petrochemical, Cement and Specialist Chemicals to name a few. David has worked for AVT Reliability for a total of 13 years and today is responsible for our staff skills and competence assessment and internal training.
Since joining AVT Reliability as Consulting Engineer in 1985, Neil has been responsible for a variety of structural monitoring projects applied to many industries both onshore and offshore. Working his way to becoming to Technical Director for Asset Integrity Services, today he has ultimate technical and commercial responsibility for all work carried out by the division as well as corporate responsibilities as part of AVT Reliability senior management team. Neil is responsible for structural integrity, pipework vibration compliance and is the laboratory head – UKAS Notified Body for noise testing and certification.
